Bring a highly focused team together to address Vertex’s growth, and develop a long-term co-location solution. This solution will ensure Vertex’s continued success in growing their business, as well as their ability to offer excellent quality of service to their online clients.

Vertex chose D&E Communications because of the quality of their facilities, the geographic proximity to their offices and their reputation for delivering excellence. According to Ross Kramer, President and CEO of Vertex, Inc., “We’ve been named one of central PA’s fastest growing companies for the past two years. Our server footprint over that period has grown from just 20 servers to over 90 today. It would be very difficult for us to invest in our own infrastructure given the phenomenal growth rate we’ve had. We’ve literally moved three times since the business’s inception,” commented Ross.

Currently, D&E’s solution consists of placing Vertex’s entire server farm into our Lancaster County Co-Location facility. D&E Co-Location enables Vertex to house their servers in a custom environment that is secure and climate-controlled, with redundant power and Internet connectivity. D&E provides the environment, rack, bandwidth, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Vertex uses their own staff to maintain their equipment, but D&E technicians are ready to assist and act as remote arms if needed. Vertex has 24x7x365 access to the facility, as well as both physical and remote access to their servers.

D&E offers both fixed and metered bandwidth options in the co-location setting. A customer with fixed bandwidth can choose the size of their pipe (10Mb, 20Mb, 30Mb, 40Mb, 50Mb), and pay a dedicated rate each month regardless of their usage. Metered bandwidth is burstable to a predetermined ceiling that is set by the customer.

In addition, enhanced support services are available to co-located hosting customers. D&E has a wide range of service options, from enhanced monitoring to IT Solutions.

Vertex has approximately 370 clients worldwide who use their Listrak (www.Listrak.com) product to communicate to their clients through the email channel. In addition, Vertex hosts over 3,000 clients’ e-commerce sites on the 90 servers housed in the D&E Communications Co-Location facility in Akron, PA.
