How D&E Lends a Hand
A new addition to this list is i-SAFE. “Along with advancements in technology also come increased threats to our children as they take advantage of new ways to interact online,” notes Dave Moore, Vice President Business Development & Marketing. He continues, “At D&E, we recognize the need to provide Internet safety training throughout our community which is why we’ve entered a partnership with e-Safety leader, i-SAFE.”
Other recent examples of D&E’s community involvement include events for the American Heart Association and United Way.
The Start! Lancaster Heart Walk, sponsored by the American Heart Association, was held in October at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, PA. Walk participants included 35 D&E employees that raised just over $4,000.
More than 40 D&E employees volunteered to help with the United Way Day of Caring in Lancaster. Many different activities took place on this special day to help "spruce up" Lancaster County and enhance lives. They included waterway cleanup, painting, carpentry, cleaning houses for the elderly, playing or reading to children, landscaping and clerical work.
D&E was proud to sponsor official i-SAFE trainings for educators, parents and students at Manheim Township Middle School in October. D&E provides i-SAFE Certified Trainers that are available to conduct Internet safety training sessions throughout central Pennsylvania.
