As Senior Sales Engineer, Shaun Gomez provides pre-sales IT support to our customers and the D&E sales team. Gomez also helps design, troubleshoot, implement and support LAN/WAN technologies. He is certified by Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) and Adtran (ASP, ATSA) and is in the process of achieving the highly recognized CCIE certification in Routing & Switching.
Gomez began his Cisco focus in 1999 and has since been approached by the company for his input on products and procedures. He says, "Cisco has been very supportive of my endeavors over the years. They always provide me with solid study materials, technical support and detailed documentation."
In addition to furthering his own education through Cisco certification programs, Gomez shares his experiences to help others learn. "I am involved with Cisco-Powered.com and lead a group discussion related to the CCIE certification program. I also reach out to the community on the Cisco Networking Professionals discussion board and offer my input whenever possible. Conversely, the community of professional engineers is there to assist me when I'm faced with a particularly challenging issue," notes Gomez.
He adds, "My relationship with Cisco has taught me a very important lesson - gaining customer trust is the key to success. It's important that we listen to our customers and understand the entire scope of their project initiatives."
