Setting up Dial-Up with the CD
(New Customers)

This set up should only be used if you are creating a new account and would like to pay with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted).

If you would like to make other billing arrangements, please call Customer Service toll-free at 1-877-905-2993, just choose option 1.

  1. This is the screen that appears when the D&E Jazzd CD is inserted.

    Press Next to continue.

    (If installing the download from the website, you may get a screen that says Setup, pressing setup will take you to this screen.)

  2. On the Service Agreement screen, please read the license agreement.

    Press Accept on the "Software License Agreement" window to continue.

  3. On the "Access Account" window select Sign-Up For New Account and click Next to continue.

  4. Select the software that should be installed and click Next to continue.

  5. Keep the default location and click Next to continue.

  6. If a dial prefix is necessary, select it from the drop-down list.

    Note: Normally this field should be left blank. A dial prefix is only needed if you need to dial “9” to initiate a call outside the building (for a business), or if you need to turn off call waiting. If you are not sure what to do here, please leave this field blank.

    Click Next to start the software installation.

  7. After the software is finished installing, you will be prompted to reboot the computer.

    Click on the Restart button.

    Note: The CD may automatically eject from your CD-ROM drive at this point.

  8. After the computer reboots, the setup will automatically pop up to continue.

    Click Next to continue.

  9. Verify that the correct modem and the correct dial method are selected.

    Click Next to continue.

    (Normally, the modem listed is correct and “tone dial” should be selected.)

  10. On the Set-Up Code page, enter the set-up code found on the CD sleeve.

    (If downloaded from the website, please enter the set-up code shown there)

  11. On the Phone Number Information screen, enter in your area code and the first three digits of your phone number where prompted.

  12. The D&E Jazzd software will now try to connect to the Internet to begin the sign-up process.

  13. When the software install completes properly, the Service Agreement page will appear.

    Please read the license agreement and press Accept to continue.

  14. To find your local access number from the drop-down list, choose the town closest to you.

    Click Next to continue.

  15. On the Internet Sign-Up screen, click Next to begin the sign-up process.

  16. On the Personal Information screen, please enter the information as requested.

    Click Next to continue.

  17. On the Service Plan screen, choose the billing interval that is preferred.

  18. On the Payment Information screen, please fill in the information requested.

    Click Next to continue.

  19. On the e-mail Information screen, please make your top three choices for an e-mail address. (Do not include @dejazzd.com).

  20. On the Choose a Password screen, choose a password that is at least 6 to 20 characters long. A combination of letters and numbers is recommended. Please note that the password is case-sensitive.

  21. On the Account Verification PIN page, please select a 4-digit PIN to identify you in the event that you would like to make changes to your account. Please record the PIN # for your reference.

  22. If you were referred by someone, you can note his or her name on the Sign-Up Referral screen.

  23. On the D&E Jazzd Sign-up inquiry screen, please select the reason you chose the D&E Jazzd Internet Service. This will help us to further improve our service.

  24. On the Verification screen, please confirm that the information is correct.

    If you are satisfied, click Accept. To make changes, click Back.

  25. The D&E Jazzd software will now connect to the Internet to complete the sign-up process.

    Click Next to continue.

  26. On the Sign-Up Complete screen, please make a note of the information.

    Click Finish when completed.

  27. Account Activation will take 3 minutes. A countdown screen automatically appears and the computer automatically dials when the countdown completes.

  28. The D&E Jazzd software will automatically launch and try to dial the phone number selected in the previous step.

  29. The "Connect To D&E Jazzd" icon will appear on the desktop for future use.
