Configuring Mac Outlook Express 5 for SMTP Authentication

NOTE: Outlook Express 5.02 or higher is required for SMTP authentication

1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on the Tools menu
3. Click on Accounts
4. In the Accounts window highlight the account and click on Edit.
5. Click on the name of your account under Description.
6. Click on the Edit button.
   
7. The following settings will need to be changed in the Account Information Window.

   a) In the field labeled Host name type in pop.dejazzd.com
   b) In the field labeled SMTP Host type in smtp.dejazzd.com
   c) Check the box for Use authentication when sending mail.
   d) In the SMTP User field type in the same information from the above User Name field.
   e) In the SMTP Password type in the same password from the above Password field
   

8. Check the box for "SMTP server requires authentication"
9. Make sure Use same settings as incoming mail server is selected.
10. Close this window by clicking on the small box in the upper left hand corner.
    
11. Press OK in the Edit Account window to finish the changes.
