Configuring Macintosh Mail version 1.2 (OS 10.2) for SMTP Authentication
- Open Mac Mail 1.2
- Click on the Mail menu
- Click on Preferences.
- Make sure Accounts is selected under Description.
- Click on the name of your account under Description.
- Click on the Edit button.
- The following settings will need to be changed in the Account Information Window.
a) In the field labeled Incoming Mail Server type in pop.dejazzd.com
b) Outgoing Mail Server should be smtp.dejazzd.com. If it isn't click on the drop down menu and choose add server.If the Outgoing Mail Server says smtp.dejazzd.com click the Options... button
- In the SMTP Server Options window that appears enter the following into the fields:
a) Set the Outgoing Mail Server to smtp.dejazzd.com
b) In the Authentication Field click on the Up/Down Arrows and choose Password
c) For the username enter it in the format username.dejazzd.com (for example jdoe.dejazzd.com)
d) In the password fields enter your email password
- Click OK to close the SMTP Server Options window.
- Click OK to close the Accounts window.
- Close the Mail Preferences window by clicking on the red X to finish.
