Configuring Macintosh Mail version 1.3 (OS 10.3) for SMTP Authentication
- Open Mac Mail 1.3
- Click on the Mail menu
- Click on Preferences.
- Make sure Accounts is selected.
- Click on the name of your account under the Accounts column.
- In the Email Address field enter your email address in the username@dejazzd.com format
- In the field labeled Incoming Mail Server type in pop.dejazzd.com
- In the field labeled User Name type in your user name in the username@dejazzd.com format.
- In the field labeled Password type in your email password.
- Click on the Server Settings button.
- The following settings will need to be changed in the SMTP Server Options screen.
a) In the field labeled Outgoing Mail Server type in smtp.dejazzd.com
b) Next to Authentication, click on the up/down arrows and click on Password.
c) In the field labeled User Name type in your user name in the username@dejazzd.com format.
d) In the field labeled Password type in your email password.
e) Press OK in the SMTP Server Options screen.
- Close the Accounts window by clicking on the red X.
- Press Save in the Save Changes screen.
