General Questions
1. Will the process of logging into Webmail be different?
No, the login process will remain the same.
2. What is the session timeout limit in Webmail?
Webmail will timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity. Typing a message in Webmail does not count as activity. If you are typing a long message, we recommend saving the message as a draft during the writing process.
3. How can I check the amount of space I am using in Webmail?
On the main mail screen there is a bar graph that shows you what percent of the mailbox is being used. All folders, including the trash and sent, count towards the total mailbox size.

4. Why am I getting the message my mailbox is over quota?
Your Web mailbox is limited to 30 MB (unless you have purchased additional space). When your mailbox reaches 90% you will receive alerts informing you of your mailbox size.
5. What do I need to do if I get the message of my mailbox being over quota?
You will need to delete items in your Webmail. The best place to start is to remove anything in your trash and sent folders. If that doesn’t clear enough space you will need to delete more e-mails from your inbox or any folders you have created.
E-mail Messages
6. How do I check if any new messages came in to my account since I logged in?
Click on Get Mail button
in the white bar below the Mail tab. All new messages that haven’t been opened will be bold.
7. How do I send messages from Webmail?
After you log into Webmail click on the Compose link on the left hand side of the screen. You will then enter the e-mail address in the To: field
(multiple e-mail addresses should be separated by a comma) or click on the To: field to select an address from your address book. You can then continue to create your e-mail message.
8. How do I forward an e-mail from Webmail?
The upgrade provides you two options for forwarding e-mails.
- Forward: This option forwards the original message as an attachment.
- Forward Inline: This option forwards the e-mail with the original message listed at the bottom of the new e-mail.
9. How do I reply to an e-mail from Webmail?
Click Reply to reply to the sender, or Reply All to reply to the sender and all of the other recipients. Type the text of the message that you wish to send and click the send button.
10. How do I delete an e-mail from Webmail?
To delete a message from the main mail screen you can click on the check box to the left of one or more messages then click the red delete button above or below the message list. To delete an e-mail after it has been opened click the delete button at the top of the screen.
11. Will my e-mails automatically be saved as drafts while I compose them?
No. If you wish to save the message as you type you will need to click on the
icon at the top of the New Message Screen periodically as you create a new e-mail. This is especially recommended if you are typing a long message that may exceed the 30-minute timeout period.
12. Will Webmail automatically save my sent e-mails in the Sent folder?
Yes, the default setting in Webmail is set to save sent items in the Sent Folder. If you feel your Sent Folder is taking up too much space in your mailbox you can turn this setting off. Click on the Options tab at the top of the screen. Select Mail then Settings. Remove the check mark from "Save a copy of sent messages in folder:"
13. What is the difference between the To: CC:, and BCC: fields in an e-mail?
- To: This field denotes the e-mail address the message is primarily intended for.
- CC: This field denotes e-mail addresses that you would like to receive a copy of the e-mail.
- BCC: This field denotes e-mail addresses that cannot be seen by other recipients of the same message.
14. Can I change the font and other format features of a new message I write?
Yes, when using Internet Explorer 5.5 or later, or Mozilla Firefox 1.3 or later, or Netscape 7.2 or later as your Web browser, you can change the text color, size, and alignment of your message along with various other message attributes.

15. Can I store my messages in separate folders?
Yes, you can create folders in Webmail that will allow you to save messages. To create a new folder click on the manage folders link on the left hand side. Click the new tab and enter the name of the folder you would like to create in the prompt box and click OK.
Address Book
16. Is there a limit to the number of contacts that can be added in Webmail?
No, there is no limit to the number of contacts you can add to the address book in Webmail.
17. How do I add an address to my address book with Webmail?
Click on the Address Book tab at the top of Webmail. Click on the New Contact button beneath the Address Book tab. Fill out the information that you would like to be included in the contact and click save.
18. Can I add addresses to the address book directly from an e-mail message?
Yes, at the top of the opened e-mail message click on the "Add Addresses" button. Every address checked on the next screen will be added to your address book. Click the Add Addresses button, the system will verify the addresses have been added.
19. I have a group of friends that I always e-mail. Can I put them under one contact in Webmail?
You can send to multiple users in Webmail by using groups. To begin this process select the address book tab towards the top of the screen. Then select the New group button
under the address book tab. You then can add e-mail addresses from your contact list to the group list.
20. How do I import addresses to my address book?
Click on the Address Book tab then click Import/Export located in the white bar below the address book tab. In the window that comes up, browse to the file you saved and then select the type of file from the drop down menu.

Webmail Options
21. Will my Vacation/away message be carried over to the new Webmail?
No, it will be deactivated and you will need to reactivate it. However the upgrade enhances this feature by adding a Start and Stop time capability.
22. How do I create an away or vacation message?
Click on Options on the left hand side, then click Mail underneath that and then select Vacation Message. You will now have the ability to choose a Start and Stop time for your message to be active.
23. Will my current e-mail forwarding remain the same in the new Webmail?
If you currently have e-mail forwarding turned on in Webmail this will remain active and not be deactivated during the upgrade process.
24. How do I setup e-mail forwarding?
Click on Options on the left hand side, then click Mail, then Settings. You will see a section at the bottom for Mail Forwarding. From there you can select if you want the messages to be deleted when forwarded or a copy to remain in Webmail.
25. What is an e-mail signature, and how do I add one?
A signature is a brief piece of text that can be set to end every e-mail you compose. You can create a signature under Options>Mail>Personal Information. Add the text you would like to be displayed at the end of each e-mail you compose and then place a check mark in the "Add the signature to each message you compose" box. After you save your settings this signature will be added to the bottom of each new e-mail you compose in Webmail.

26. I use Webmail for my business and would like to create a vCard how do I do that?
Click on Options, then Mail, then Personal Information. Enter the information you would like to display in the vCard. You will need to place a check in the "Add this vCard to each message you compose" check box. After you save the settings this vCard will be added to each message you compose.
