Adding Additional Profiles with Netscape Mail

  1. Click on the Start menu.
  2. Highlight Programs.
  3. Select Netscape Communicator >Utilities > User Profile Manager .
  4. The Profile Manager box should appear. In the box you should have "default" if you only have one e-mail address set up.
  5. Select New.

  6. The Creating a new Profile box will be displayed.
  7. Select Next.

  8. The Enter your Name and E-mail Address box will be displayed.
  9. In the box titled Full Name, type the name you want the person to see when they receive an e-mail from you. (ex. John doe).
  10. In the box titled E-mail Address, type in your e-mail address. (ex. jdoe@dejazzd.com).
  11. After entering this information, click Next.

  12. The Choose a Name and Directory for your Profile box will be displayed.
  13. In the box titled Profile Name, type in a name to identify the profile you are creating. (ex. Jdoe, this will be the first part of your e-mail address).
  14. Do not change or add any information for the default directory.
  15. Click Next.

  16. The Set up your Outgoing Mail Server box will be displayed.
  17. For Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server, type in mail.dejazzd.com
  18. Click Next.

  19. The Set up your Incoming Mail Server box will be displayed.
  20. For Mail Server User Name, type in the name you want the person to see. (ex. Jdoe.dejazzd.com).
  21. For Incoming Mail Server, type in mail.dejazzd.com
  22. Directly below you can select a Mail Server type.
    1. POP3 MUST BE SELECTED.

  23. At this point, you have two options:
    1. Click Finish to complete the setup of the new account.
    2. Or click Next to set up newsgroups.

    Optional: If you choose to set up Newsgroups, create the news server as news.dejazzd.com.
