Adding Additional Identities with Outlook Express

  1. Launch Outlook Express
  2. Click on File
  3. Scroll down to Identities, and left click on Add New Identity
  4. Type the name that you want to use for this identity.
    • If you want to have a password, put a checkmark in the box beside password. Another box will appear. Then you will need to type in your password. NOTE: This password is for the identity in Outlook Express. D&E Jazzd will not be able to retrieve the identity password if it is lost.
    • Click Ok.
  5. Click Yes when it asks you to switch to the identity you just created.
  6. Type your name how you would like it to appear.
    • Ex. jdoe
    • Click Next
  7. Check the option that says, "I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use," and then type in your e-mail address.
    • Ex. jdoe@dejazzd.com
    • Click Next

  8. Under Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server type in pop.dejazzd.com
  9. Under Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server type in smtp.dejazzd.com

  10. Click Finish on the Congratulations screen.
  11. On the Outlook Express main screen, click on the Tools Menu, and then click on Accounts.
  12. Click on the Mail Tab.
  13. Double click on the name of the account.

  14. Click on the Servers tab.
  15. At the bottom of the window, under Outgoing Mail Server, check the box for My Server Requires Authentication.

  16. Click on the Setting button next to My Server Requires Authentication.
  17. The Outgoing Mail Server window appears.

  18. Verify the option is selected for Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  19. Click OK.
  20. The properties box will appear. Click OK to Save the Changes.
  21. The Internet Accounts window will appear. Click Close.

The Outlook Express Identity is now setup. Repeat steps 1- 21 to set up additional identities.
