How to find your
Special Circuit number

In order to troubleshoot the problem with your Special Circuit, please provide us with the Special Circuit ID (identification) number.

If the ID number is not known from your records of services with D&E, it is typically marked on the cover of the Network Interface Device (NID), the cabinet or enclosure for the device associated with the circuit, or on the device itself.

If there is a NID, it is most often a gray plastic box, approximately 8 inches by 10 inches, mounted in your telephone/equipment room, or on the outside of the building, usually near the electric meter.

If there is a device, it is likely mounted in your telephone/equipment room, and it may show lights or LED’s that differ from normal. This device may be an ADTRAN, AFC, or a device from another manufacturer. The circuit ID is usually in the form of 2 numbers/4 letters/6 numbers/2 letters, for example, 13/HCGS/123456/PA.
