Who is responsible for Repairs?

D&E Repair Service
717-733-1411 or
1-888-316-4430
You are also responsible for any wiring between buildings on your property. You may make repairs yourself, have someone else make them, or have D&E make the repairs for a service charge. You may also subscribe to one of D&E’s maintenance plans for a small monthly fee. D&E does not repair residential customer-owned telephones.
D&E Telephone Company is responsible for repairing outside wiring (or cable) and equipment from the telephone office to (and including) your home’s or business’s Network Interface Device (NID). D&E performs these repairs at no charge to you.
Providing Your Own Equipment
You may supply your own telephone or other terminal equipment and connect it directly to the nationwide telephone network.
Wire Maintenance Plan
If you want to avoid potential service charges related to customer-provided equipment, you can subscribe to D&E's Wire Maintenance Plan.
This plan includes all service, labor, and material charges for repairs to customer-provided equipment (telephone wiring and jacks).
